2月6日ワークショップを開催しました。 - ESCO　大阪＆東京英会話サークル

こんにちは。ESCOのミツです。

体調を崩しやすい時期ということもあり、先日はいつもより少し人数が少ない例会となりましたが、まあたまにはこんな日もあります笑

みなさん、体調には気をつけてくださいね。

さて、先日の例会のトピックは、

1st TOPIC Religions and babies

2nd TOPIC Supreme Court upholds legality of requiring married couples to use same family name

でした。

Questions
1）Is your guess about the number of children in the future the same as the speaker’s answer? What’s the reason for your guess?

2) What did the speaker say about the relationship between religions and babies?

3) What are the characteristics of countries where there are high birth-rates?

4) Do you also think the world’s population will reach and stay above the 10 billion mark?

5) What do you think is the most important among the four factors to decrease the number of babies per women?

宗教と出生率ってどんな関係があるのかな？とつい思ってしまうタイトルですが・・・思わず突っ込みたくなるような結論でしたね笑

個人的には、スピーカーのデータの見せ方にも興味を持ちました。二次元のグラフの中に、一人当たりの収入、女性一人当たりの赤ちゃんの数、その国の人口、年、という4項目を詰め込む荒業Σ（ﾟ∀ﾟ*)

しかもそれがわかりやすく、スピーチを聴き取れなくても、ある程度の内容は理解できたのではないでしょうか。

見せ方というのはこうでなくちゃ、と思えるプレゼンでした（＾ω＾）

Questions
1) What do you think about the decision regarding family names reached by the supreme court?

2) What do you think about the decision about the period for prohibition of remarriages?

3) Why do you think that the judge ruled it as unconstitutional?

4) What differs between the present and the Meiji-era when the period for prohibition of remarriages was set?

数ヶ月前に話題になったニュースからのトピックでした。

日本では夫婦は同性であるべきという判決でしたが、他の国ではどうなのでしょうか？？

アメリカでは（州により法律は異なりますが）、夫婦別姓が認められているようで、夫婦の姓を統合したり、ミドルネームにするなどの選択があるようです。しかしながら、多くの人は同姓を選択するようですね。

選択の自由がある中での同姓と、選択の自由がない中での同姓とは、また違った印象を受けますね。

法律は難しいです・・・(*´Д｀)=з

とまあ、今回は少し難しい内容でしたが、ESCOではトピック作成を立候補してもらうことができますし、作成者がトピックを自由に作ることができます(^o^)／
